Desi & Lucy- Atomic Ranch Style!

Friend Michael stumbled across this neat photo and sent it to me, I LOVE the supports on either side of the porch. If you look very closely in the background, you can also see that the front door is studded with star-bursts.
SERIOUSLY how cool are these?! I wish I had some place to replicate and put them in our new addition.

Hmmmmm any ideas?!

I have two suggestions. One would be to make them freestanding and put them on either side of the windows, a couple of feet from the wall. That would partially disguise the air conditioner. The other suggestion is to use them on the front of the house, but instead of parallel to the house like in the Lucy photo, place them perpendicular to the house from the bottom of the awning to the ground on either side of your steps, creating a little enclosure.

You could probably make these pretty easily... 1x2's and wooden dowels.
Y'all are pretty resourceful.
The other thing...did you want to replicate the star bursts, too?
I've seen all sorts of appliques made with Plaster of Paris and glued to the fronts of furniture (shabby chic-ers do it all the time)
You could created these out of Plaster of Paris and paint them with metalic paint and pop some faux jewels in them...
glue them right to the door!

Good luck with it...
can't wait to see what you come up with.

You should create three of them, and frame the front of the bathtub with them. One on each end, and one as a valance. Then, the shower curtain would go behind them.

I bet you could make them yourself with picture frames and 1x2s- you're a handy guy- go for it!
