Summers End 2010

Well dear readers, talk about a 'whirlwind' weekend!

Wednesday I get a message form my friend Lydia suggesting a group of friends do something this weekend, before I can even hit reply Lydia send me a second message asking if everyone could "Check In" to the Casablanca this weekend!  So friday around 4:45 I met up with 7 of my best friends and we headed out to the lake!
(As you can see, Kelcie and Lydia could hardly wait to jump in!)
(Down the Slide!)
(Friends Jay & Kaeli)
(Kelcie and her Floaty Pickle! Lydia with her bowie!)
(Zack and myself...looking like a drowned rat!)
(This is friend Emily who is terrified of lakes, she took most of the in water pictures!)
After we had out fill of swimming, everyone got out and headed back to the house to make dinner. (one of my own impromptu ideas was to eat off the good dishes and make it an occasion for summers end!) So they guys got busy cooking....
 (Zack, Kaeli, Jay, and Emily)
The girls headed to the bath tub to wash up, which brings us to...
The Casablanca Masterpiece Theater's
Production of
"South Pacific"

Since I forced  decided to use the good dishes the girls made the effort to dress for dinner (all of this spur of the moment mind you!) dresses, bobby pins, lip stick, flowers you name it these girls had it and the lounge was transformed into  "Ly-dias hair salon"!
The weather was perfect, so we set the table up outside in the Drive-In and since we were all dressed up and looking retro as ever, I saw a picture postcard oupportunity!

What A meal it was! Black Angus hamburgers, fries, cheese and broccoli , and summer salad!
I think that's the first hamburger dinner iv had that lasted 2 hours, we just sat out munched on food, listened to the Rumba and Samba records I'd thrown on the player, and just  talked oh it was great fun! After dinner  the guys broke up the table and got things into place while the gals took the dishes and washed them in the kitchen!
(I happen to walk past the kitchen window and noticed not only were these 3 washing dishes, but there hips were also synchronized  dancing the Rumba as the washed and dried it was great!)
Dishes done and chairs in place, our evening entertainment included a showing of Hairspray in the Turquoise room, and  Open Mic in the gravel pit!
(Kelcie & Lydia singing "Bad Romance", Michael's lamp also makes a stage appearance)
We kept at this until around 1:45 A.M. just having such a great time, but unlike my neighbors... I know when its time to settle down! So we moved that party back into the turquoise room.
When we finally turned out the lights to go to sleep, none of us could! So we tried saying "Good night" to each other and rather than a touching moment, we sounded like the smartass version of the Walton family haha! The next morning we got up and made "Omelet-in-a-bag" for breakfast....
The recipe is simple! All you need is 3 eggs and what ever else you want in your omelet, a pint freezer bag, and a pot of boiling water. First one brings the pot of water to a rolling boil, then in the freezer bag you put your three eggs + fixing's, then seal the bag getting all of the air out, after that you drop the bag into the boiling pot and let is boil for 15 min. When its done you have a perfect omelet! (I put avocado, bacon, sausage, chives, with salt and pepper in mine!)
We enjoyed our breakfast in the lounge, ( in fact that's what we did most of the morning... lounge about ) At 3:00 our friend Michelle from Decatur showed up. As Much as we hated to we packed everything and set off for town and the fast paced reality that goes with it. Thus ending the summer portion of the Casablanca's Season...

However, just because the summer is drawing to a close doesn't mean the Casablanca is!  As you will recall dear readers the "Casablanca season"  runs from March 15 - Nov 15, Hehe and some of the best parts of this season are yet to come. (I'm dreaming of a white Thanksmass) There's also Labor Day, and Halloween to look forward too!

Wow....how much fun. Your swimming hole looks enticing, especially since it's blazing here in NYC!
