The Clash....

So my dear readers, I need your input!

On the left, is the curtains that were purchased for the Turquoise Room  in December. I paid $45 for three panels that will be split and made into curtains to cover the five windows in the room. Well now I've  found these GREAT vintage red/ cream/ pink and green panels on the right.   I was kind of hoping that maybe I coudl still use the panles I bought in December and the vintage ones as a "valances"  on the top and sides.

What do you retro readers think? Could the two live in harmony? Or should I just pack the vintage ones away? (Honestly had I found these red panels first, the bedroom would STILL be red ha ha I'd have just re worked the color, BUT NOW ITS TURQUOISE!

What do you think? To busy, go with the panels I bought for the room, work the red panels in and get an new base curtain?  All comments would be helpful! Because I really dont wanna cut up the vintage ones if its not gonna work out.

Love them both. Do you have enough of the new for curtains and the geometrics for pillows and a seat cover for a chair you haven't bought but will soon. Knowing you, you will have before the month is over a chair, an ottoman, and side chair. Don't stop! Lamp shade, too. Mickey go for it!!!!!!!

I think the ones with the square go better with the room, both beautiful, but not together.

Mick, I am sooo glad I stopped by to assist you with thus design dilemma! Go with the red vintage curtains. Red and turquoise look ravishing together. Vintage always looks better than new-made-to-look-vintage. It is my belief that the blue geometric curtains will be too matchy-matchy in that room. Finally, you don't necessarily have to hem those curtains short to match those windows. Just sayin.'

Great patterns but too much together. One or the other or use one for a valance and use a solid color for the panels. I have used canvas paint drop cloths for curtains and room dividers. Once they are washed they are softer and hang well. I do love both of your fabrics though. Great finds.

Love these fabrics, especially the vintage..but together? NADA! How do the red one's look up against the walls? Others have given you some good ideas. Can't wait to see what you do.

I love both. How ever I feel the ones with squares would look better in the turquoise room. Do you need a valance? I wouldn't put one. Just a simple rod and rings with clips.

I love them both, but probably would not put them together. Let each fabulous pattern shine by using them in seperate areas..they deserve their own spotlight! I would probably put the red in the turquiose room. They are beautiful. Zootsuitmama

Because I love the vintage ones so much, I vote for them. Just do NOT put them with the ones with squares--ouch! my eyeballs!

I like the vintage ones and I also think they would "set off" the turquoise in the room. I like the Cuban feel of the red ones, they would compliment your passion for I Love Lucy. If you put those two together, you would have a lot of 'splainin to do! :-)

I like the red ones. You don't need to cut them; leave them long and hang 'em high (LOL).

What Susie said! Long curtains on short windows make the room seem bigger the ceiling higher. And the vintage fabric, please!

Both are great but I thing separate... Although they could go together in some circumstances I'm not sure they would go together here.
