"As Time Goes By" Part 2 of 7

After the Limbo Contest, My dad arrived with the hamburgers and hotdogs. I wish I had taken a picture of all the FOOD! I asked everyone that was coming to bring some things, and BOY did thery ever 2 water mellons, Veggie Crapes with  sauce, a cookie cake, potato salad, Chips by the bucket fulls, carrot cake cupcakes, the food took up all the table and counter space in the kitchen! (Which worked out great because it was like a buffet!)
It was so hot no one really wanted to eat, but none the less we did! As soon as the burgers were gone friend Brittani insisted  we bring out the cake and cut it.
Now dear readers, my mother tries and I love her for it! However ONCE AGAIN she took what I had and turned it into something else.  This Party "As Time Goes By" was a party to celebrate 5 years of owning and creating the Casablanca, my mom however decide that this was going to be my "Birthday"  and took no time at all telling EVERYONE "Oh its his Birthday, Birthday, Birthday!"   ( My Birthday is actually today June the 22) So to humor her, we threw on the 'Happy Birthday' record and everyone sang... Then we cut the cake!
(My friend Kelcie, doesn't she just look like 'The perfect little homemaker' ?!)
Lining up for some cake!  Boy was it good, Vanilla cake with homemade icing and the Drive-In screen was chocolate YUM. Britt was kinda discouraged when only a few people at the cake, but it was like 400 degrees outside so no one wanted to eat...(until later).  So to pass the time we moved into the next event of what has now been branded "The Golden Flamingo Olympics" ....

(Lydia our Hula Hoop Judge, and Wes winner of the Hula Hoop contest)
The following are candid pictures I snapped during the hula hoop contest, look them over carefully...
(The lovely Michelle, tries not to let her hoop fall to the ground)
(Wes doing his stuff)
"It's my flamingo, and I'll cry if I want to..."
(Sigh, I told you they'd kill each other for those flamingos)
(Little Miss Disa, knows when to Hula!)
(Wes and Lee in a  'hoop off')
(It wasn't until this party I found out hula hoops can be Deadly Weapons?!)
(Little Miss Disa, quite possibly the NEW poster child of hula hooping)
That's 2 golden flamingos down and 2 more to go!  Tune in tomorrow for the "Golden Flamingo Olympics halftime show" and a look at some "As Time Goes By" presents!

I was pretty good with a Hula Hoop in my youth but alas, the skill doesn't continue into adulthood (at least not for me). I was thinking about you all day Saturday and wondering how you could've possibly had a good time in this terrible heat, but apparently it didn't deter y'all one bit!

Happy Birthday Mick!!

Hula hoop, that brings back some memories!

Wow, loving the event posts soooo much. Love the outfits...

It gets hotter'n a pistol here too, so I know how difficult that can be when you want to have fun, but looks like folks had a blast!

It's so cool to see people struggling with the hula hoop just as I do!

I decided to take it up not long ago and man it's really hard!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! Did your mom meet Missouri Mike, the real honest to gosh blog reader? LOL! The Golden Flamingo Olympics are really competitive! I would have never suspected people would kill for one! I hope no one got hoop burn on their necks!
