My Momma Is Gonna Kill Me...

 It started out innocently...
I woke up this morning, and went to the bank to cash my pay check. Now you see out little Hamlet of a town was mapped out in 1888, with massive gardens and all these thing... but MAINLY with a "Main street" that has 1 lane going and 1 lane coming with a median in between. Well the State National Bank ( My family has banked there since the State bank across the street merged with the National bank and that was just after the 'Crash of 29')  I cash my check. Then I was in hot pursuit of the Dollar general, because Zootsuitmama  informed us this morning on her blog  that they were carrying the Elusive Lawn Flamingo this season.

Found them! Took everything I had not to blow my pay check on all the flamingos, but then this wise old lady standing next to me says "well you only ever need two... unless, you WANT your yard to look like Sh*t"  haha!   I leave the Dollar store with my pay check intact, then as if fate its self  I come to a halt (there was a stop sign) and beside the stop sign was a poster board with the 3 words of doom written on them... "ESTATE SALE TODAY"   So I pull into a parking space,  as I walked in at first it just looked like junk, to the untrained eye... first I found a 10 cent souvenir ash tray from Arizona, then I found the gold glass holder 50 cents , The I found this nifty "Can-O-Mat"  wall mount can opener... and  I asked myself "how has the Kitchen of the Casablanca gotten along with out one!?" $1
The GREATEST surprise however came when I found a box in the corner,  there was only one thing you could see from the hole in the box letting in light...
"MINE!!!!!!"
$10 AND it had the the beaters, and both of the mixing bowls!  I grabbed the stool for $1 (it will be recovered in red and reside in the turquoise room.) I headed out to my Grandmothers to do some lawn work, she loves to plant flowers, and has now developed quite a system she sits in a lawn chair while I wallow through the flower beds!  Today I made a shocking discovery as I knocked a rather large mound of dirt over this was looking up at me.
I whisked the dirt off flipped it over and much to my surprise....
Buried in the not 1 BUT 2 of the salad bowls to the set I pulled out of the garage attic a while back!  These plates not ONLY survived being water basins for grandmas plants, but going all winter with out filling up with water, freezing and breaking is just amazing, so I will be washing them up and taking them to the lake.
And the fun's not over yet!  Tonight im going into town to see that AMAZING musical "Always Patsy Cline"

The Backdoor Theater where I was in Jesus Christ Superstar did this show a few years back and it was a HIT! It honestly could have run forever... there's 23 Patsy Cline hits in the score, its a show that will make you laugh, cry and melt your heart!  (I went and saw it 3 times, during the first run at Backdoor) Tonight they are having a special 1 night only revival of the show at Memorial Auditorium in Wichita Falls and its going to be quite a show!

Oh NO! I have started a new outbreak! It's an epidemic ... Flamingo-itis! Seriously, they are so cool, one could have twenty (well, ok, I don't quite have that many) on one's lawn, and it would not look shi**y!
Happy Saturday y'all!

Flamingo Fever is Back! I saw some yesterday, same packaging in our Big Lots, AKA Pic N' Save. They must be infiltrating discount stores all over the country! The ones I saw were $20 for the pair, too rich for my blood. Plus Adam & Steve, my rescue flamingos might get jealous. All that stuff you found at the Estate sale is great!

Great finds, Mick! You will love that mixer- I have the same one and use it every day. That can-o-mat also should have a chrome piece that covers the greenish one. Something else to look for! ;)
