Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa-Frankoma!

Imagine my surprise when I went into the crappiest Goodwill in town and after searching all corners of the store, stumbled upon this shelf!!!
First thing I pounced on causally picked up was this Brown Satin Tea Pitcher! Frankoma pattern "5 D" (the dishes we use for Thanksmass are a mix of the Desert Sand & Brown Stain patterns) and this little beauty was $3.99...I KNOW RIGHT?! Well I had just $4.00 so I ran back to work and got a $20.00 advance on my pay check and ran right back to get the rest!
I'm not sure if this is a planter, or maybe a tissue box?  Its in the Prairie Green glaze pattern "6 8" and got it for $1.99. I'm usually not a fan of the Prairie Green, but I really like this little piece.
This red glaze pitcher was also $3.99 is in pattern "8 O" or "8 C".and is a later piece of Frankoma, the red didn't show up on the scene until the 1980's.
I've never seen a bowl like this, with the pattern on the bottom, price $2.99!
(Pattern "224")
I'm pretty sure this is a sugar bowl and its missing its lid but its red glaze, Pattern "5 B" and it came with this little creamer pitcher and they came together for $1.99
(Pattern ? )
I'm 99% sure this is a cookie jar, and it too is missing its lid but it can be used a vase or something until I find a lid! red glaze pattern "25 F". it was $2.99!!

What a steal I got on all of this stuff! The clerk asked me "How rich are you?"  then second time I went in to get the rest of these pieces. He had caught on that these things might be just a little more than clunky old pottery. If I keep this up, im going ot have to buy a super thin glass cabinet to store all this in the kitchen of the Casablanca!

You're lucky to find all of that Frankoma at those prices. The Goodwill stores in Tulsa like to mark it up really high.

I've never heard of "Frankoma". You've taught this old lady something new! I'll have to read up on it.

What a superb find - it's out-of-the-blue strikes like this that help make second hand shopping so insatiably fun (and addictive!).

Thank you very much for your great comment over at Chronically Vintage. I'm happy to know that post my might inspire you to give black and green tiles a spin your kitchen (if you ever try them out, please don't hesitate to share photos, I'd love to see your take on that great Mediterranean vintage look).

Wishing you a fantastic day (and many more great secondhand hauls like this to come!),

I had stopped going to the local thrift stores because anytime they got in something good, they'd google it and put on a ridiculously high pricetag. Then the other day I decided to go in one and there was a beautiful little Fenton swan, handpainted & signed, no price tag. Two seconds later, I was out the door with my 50 cent swan!! I think I would faint if I saw all that Frankoma at those prices, even though no one down here knows (or cares) what it is. I'd just buy it because it was such a deal, and I LOVE that red bowl. Well, I love all of it. Lucky you!!!!!

Mick hit the JACKPOT! Don't you just love that feeling of 'finding' something you love and can get it for a great price!!
I was at Value Village this week and couldn't believe their prices on most items!
Good on you Mick!

I'm pretty sure that if I went into my local Goodwill and saw that shelf, I would have fallen over dead. Which would have been a shame, not just for the people at Goodwill, but for me, because I would have really really loved that Frankoma. Fantastic, Mick! That kind of magic almost never happens.

I've been a thrift store groupie for a long time, and a Frankoma hoarder for ten years. Thanks for letting my heart go thump thump thump!
