The new lay out will affect the flow of the house a little bit- for example-
This window will be the new "doorway" into the dining/living room, it also means the electric cable that feeds the house will have to be moved as well. The threshold will be an open one that leads right into the the eat-in kitchen.
(Crudely seen here.)
The view from the kitchen will hopefully look like this...
One of the features of the dining room is going to be this HUGE 5' x 9' window that our friend Kimberly gave to us from her home.
Her house was built in Wichita Falls in 1958, and she and her husband just recently upgraded their living room window to something more energy efficient and I begged her to let me haul away the old one to use in our project!
(Most nerve wracking drive ever...)
I'm still not sure exactly how all the doors and windows will be laid out. I have a pretty good idea of the "front" part of the room, but the back is still kind of blank as I am planning to turn it into a bathroom later.. but here's an Artists Rendering of what the front it might look like.
I'd like to make that addition match the original part of the house as much as possible, but what I save up will be a big deciding factor in that. I've been hoarding money like crazy so we can at least get the exterior done and a roof on it in June! After that's done I can work on the interior as money allows.
I am dead set on having a set of double doors in front. I think they will be good for moving things in and out and let in a lot of additional light. More than likely after the doors are installed a set of double screen doors will be added . If you have any ideas or comments please share! like I've said this is all in the planning stages. Any of you out there have double doors and Hate/Love them?

Wow! I LOVE that big curved window! That will let in so much light and open up your space considerably! I can't wait to see the final result. You can do it! A fund raiser sounds good. I've been selling lots of stuff to pay for my car restoration. I've been pretty successful so far!
What a project! Don't forget about Habitat ReStore for supplies (if you have one in your community). Can't wait to see the window in its new home.
That window is amazing! It's going to look sooooooooooo fantastic! I have French doors leading onto my patio, and I love them. Like you said, it's so nice to be able to open both doors when I have something large to move in, and it really does make the room look open and airy.
