"To Break A $20"

I get so Jealous of all you deal finders out there!

The ones who snatch up a gold Sunclock for $1, The ones who find fiberglass lamp shades for 50 cents... Well Im one of the deal hunters too! haha Iv just had a bad day :(

Not a block away from my College is a Goodwill store, This i Fear will be the down fall to my continuing education... Anyhow, Today I go in there to kill some time and I See a few little things that id maybe want but don't really need and then this thought pop into my head "All you have in your wallet is a $20 and if its not fantastic enough to break it, DONT" So away i go through the store finding small things for $0.99 but nothing id buy together and nothing to break a $20...

So when I go shopping that's My New motto, UNLESS i absolutely cant live without it! But from now on i will think "is it worth breaking a $20"!

I thought id share this because, like me im sure their are people out their who spend like drunken sailors on leave! haha But im saving all my money for my yearly pilgrimage to "Joy Land" In Kansas City it is the BEST Thrift store in the world!

Well that's all i have for today, Tomorrow Tune in for Vintage Christmas Decorations the hot topic of the season!

The Flamingo Drive-In Theater

Today's subject? My back yard at the Casablanca!

Now most people have a grill, maybe a clothes line, but me? No way! I present My tribute to Summer in the 1950's... The Flamingo Drive-In (The worlds SMALLEST Drive In Movie Theater)

Ta-Da!

When I say its the smallest, I'm not kidding! The pride of the neighborhood, the screen stands 6 ft tall and about 5.5 wide. We really do project movies onto the screen and you might notice the lack of cars, that's because at the Flamingo everyone sits in vintage lawn chairs (I collect them). Each year my friends and I try to add one new thing to the drive-in this year we added the Speaker post with real drive-in movie speakers! Next year in 2010 were hoping to add an 8ft cowboy made out of wood and tube lights... The Flamingo has appeared in "Readymade magazine","Boys Life magazine", and on several other blogs here on the Internet.
Its a great place to hang out during the summer, SO if your ever in Texas drop on by for dinner and a show!

First Post!

Hello out there!

After much consideration, Iv fianlly been convinced to start blogging about the "World Famous Casablanca Hotel & Resort" aka my lake and summer home! :)

Now a few things you should know,

The house was built in 1943 by one of the three "Martin Brothers" as a Safe house for their familes during WWII. At one time there were three little houses all in a row, built from peices of  two larger Montgomery Ward houses. Each of the cabins was a little diffrent from the other. (For example) My house, the last standing was built with out a bathroom, while the other two had all conviences. You will also notice through my post obscure things like a french door used as a window and table lamps used as chandileres! Since 1943 the house has had three other owners, and I am the fouth. When I moved in everything in the house had been hastily painted white inside and out, except for the kitchen floor of green and white checks. everything you see has been done since the spring of 2005.

Im really new to the Blog thing so please hang with me! ( I'll just warn you my spelling isn't the greatest either, haha!)
