26 Piece PYREX SCORE!

(Ta-Da!)
Well Readers it was an eventful weekend! Not only did I have a show going up Friday night, but a relaxing weekend planned at the Casablanca for the "Post- Tech Week Stress" of the show. Our Good Friend Deanna tipped me off about a garage sale in our little town, and the ad boasted "Lots of Pyrex Glass Ware in many different colors, you will LOVE our prices!" The sale started at 8:00 A.M. So Patricia and I got there around 7:15 to be the first in line and BOY WERE WE GLAD WE DID!
(The Fridgies, complete with all their lids~!)
I KNEW the Chance we took on the sale was going to be worth it when I spotted this Butterprint set (that I have long wanted and pined for) for only $20 with all the lids and not a scratch on it!
Patricia got herself a Primary Fridgie set for $22.00 with all the lids (and traded me for the second red 501) later a GREAT deal I think! After we checked out we were getting into the car to drive away when we spot the sellers hauling MORE Pyrex out of an old shed, so we trotted back across the street... where we bought three more pieces of Pyrex
A small piece of Butterfly gold $1.00 (as a Thank you to our friend Deanna!) Pat got a pink pie plate $2.00, and I snatched up a green cake round $3.00 to give as a present! We went back to the car, ONLY TO SEE THEM PULL OUT MORE PYREX! So once again we trekked over to the table, and the lady running the sale said "what colors are you looking for?" I told her "Turquoise, pink, green, & solid yellow" and she said "Follow me..." and away we went into the storage shed/building where i kid you not there was a solid 4 foot wide by 8 ft wall of Pyrex!
Recently we've been coming across a lot of Orange "Halloween" Pyrex, so I snatched this set up for $20.
Pat spotted a pink 501 for $5, I got the turquoise 503 with older lid for $10, and the yellow 1.5 qt casserole for $2.00
A  red two qt round friendship for $2.00!
Two Primary Mixing bowl sets, missing the red bowls for $15.00 (we give these sets away as wedding presents to our friends!)
Patricia got this snowflake chain 404 for her mother and only paid $3.00, I'm telling you there was SO MUCH PYREX we ran out of money before we ran out of pieces to buy! Haha! a pretty good haul for $115.00 between pat and myself! We left the sale, nearly broke and headed out to the sunny Casablanca where I got to finish my loaf pan set!
(I love these colors together! We've nearly finished all our collections!)
That evening Friends Andrew and Brianna came to dinner, where we of course cooked in Pyrex!
(Chicken Alfredo in the two qt rounds!)
(Brianna, Andrew & Patricia)
All in all it was a wonderful relaxing weekend, I STILL cannot believe our luck on the Pyrex (and to think we almost didn't go to the sale!) I'll show you what else we did this weekend on Wednesday!

Happy Monday everyone!

  1. Absolutely amzazing! I would have pushed something big in front of the door of the shed to keep other buyers out! I am wondering if these people were serious Pyrex collectors or if they had an antique store or booth at one point? Regardless, I think that you should receive the "Pyrex Score of A Lifetime" award. I don't think there is an actual award yet but in your honor, I am creating one!

  6. Eek, what an amazing new stash of pyrex! Aren't you curious why the two sets are both missing the red bowls? Maybe it was the previous owner's favorite color or something and they used it all the time?
